Call to Worship

One: We gather as part of God’s great diversity,

All: made in God’s image, you and I.

One: We sing the Creator’s love song of life,

All: giving voice to the sacred, deep in our hearts.

One: We risk hope as the Jesus movement,

All: called to bold discipleship in our time.

One: We embrace the Spirit who moves in and through,

All: pressing us to daring conspiracies of love and justice.

One: Holy Three, Holy One, we come together in worship.

Opening Prayer

*Opening Hymn Open My Eyes, That I May See (#371 VU)

Prayer of Confessional and Renewal (Unison)

Gracious God, we acknowledge and confess in your presence the smallness of our love, the narrowness of our concern, and the denial of our true humanity. Through our careless hands have slipped opportunities not taken, people not cared for, and days not celebrated. We are ashamed and sorry for the ways of our unfaithfulness, and ask for reassurance and forgiveness. (a time of silent confession) Amen.

*Celebrate God’s Presence

Words of Assurance

One: In Christ, we are offered forgiveness and renewal.

All: We rejoice in God’s mercy and healing.

One: God meets us with boundless grace, welcoming us back with love.

All: We accept the gift of new beginnings and strive to walk in love.

Time for God’s Children (Hymn – Like a Rock, #92 MV)

Like a rock, like a rock, God is under our feet

Like the starry night sky, God is over our head

Like the sun on the horizon, God is ever before

Like the river runs to ocean, our home is in God evermore.

*Offertory Hymn  (#542 VU, We Give You But Your Own)

We give you but your own, whate’er the gift may be;

all that we have is yours alone, we give it gratefully.

*Offertory Prayer (Unison)

Loving God, you have taught us that the greatest commandments are to love you with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbours as ourselves. As we bring our offerings before you, we do so in gratitude for your unending love and grace. May these gifts be used to spread that love, bringing hope, peace, and justice to our world. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
