Call to Worship

One: Grace and peace from God,

All: who always was and still is to come,

One: the Alpha and Omega,

All: the beginning and the end.

One: Today we name the reign of Christ,

All: the reign that was with us before, is with us now, and is not yet here.

One: Let us worship together,

All: today and in the days ahead.

Prayer of Confessional and Renewal (Unison)

Dear God, on this Reign of Christ Sunday, we give thanks for the end of one year and the start of another in your care. We confess that we often ignore life’s endings, focusing instead on material success. Remind us, Alpha and Omega, that you are our refuge and strength, present through all changes and uncertainties. Though the world may tremble, your eternal presence remains our foundation. Help us to trust in your unchanging love and to live with gratitude and purpose. (a time of silent confession) Amen.

Words of Assurance

One: Even when we lose sight of the eternal and cling to the fleeting, God’s grace remains steadfast.

All: God is our shepherd and refuge, always with us in times of trouble.

One: Though mountains may shake and nations may roar, God’s love endures forever.

All: The Alpha and Omega is with us, the beginning and the end.

One: In Christ, we are forgiven and renewed.

All: Thanks be to God, presence will never pass away! Amen.

Announcements and Minute for Mission

Time for God’s Children (Hymn – Like a Rock, #92 MV)

Like a rock, like a rock, God is under our feet

Like the starry night sky, God is over our head

Like the sun on the horizon, God is ever before

Like the river runs to ocean, our home is in God evermore.
