Prayer
of Confessional and Renewal (Unison)
Dear God, we come to you on this day from a society
that tends to always be thinking of what we are lacking rather than what we
already have. We confess that we might have an abundant list of wants yet may
be deficient in our gratitude. As a society, we complain that we do not have enough
to go around and, at the same time, fail to realize the bounty in your
creation. O God, help us to remember the splendour of your creation, the plenty
that is all around us, and the stewards who harvest it and prepare it for our usage.
Bless us with spirits of gratitude and generosity, so that we may continue to
carry out your works in the world. (a
time of silent confession) Amen.

Words
of Assurance
One: We
know that God is the creator of all the cosmos, including the stunning and
bountiful world in which we live.
All: We
are blessed to be a part of God’s magnificent creation.
One: Each
of us is a beloved child of God, who, by grace, inherited life abundant.
All: As God’s forgiven, beloved children, let us shape a
society filled with gratitude and generosity. Amen.

*Offertory Hymn (Tune: #374VU)
Acts of kindness, times for sharing; bringing
Christ to human need.
Caring for the least among us; simple actions
plant the seed.
By our giving and forgiving, work a miracle
of love.
Holy presence to us offered; Praise the One
who reigns above.

the rhythm of renewal. May our offerings reflect our commitment to be
