Call
to Worship
One:
Welcome to this summertime place of gathering and of witness.
All: We come to worship God as revealed in the risen Christ.
One:
Open
your hearts to the movement of the Spirit within.
All: We come to live our faith in a
world of need and of opportunity.
One:
Widen your understanding of the movement of God within and without.
All: We come to pray in mind, in body,
in spirit, and in action.
*Gord Dunbar. Gathering Pentecost 1, 2024.
Opening
Prayer (Unison)
Feed us here, we pray, Generous and Providing
God, with the bread of life, through music and stories, at table and font, so
that we may each tell another where there is bread, where there is a cup of
sharing, and where there is welcome. We offer praise and thanks for Jesus, the
Bread of Life, who nourishes us. In hope and courage, we come to you to be fed.
Amen.

Prayer
of Confessional and Renewal (Unison)
Merciful God, we confess that temptation
finds us everywhere, even in this sanctuary for worship. Despite our worship
and good works, we often stumble and stray. Forgive us for not trusting in Your
wisdom and grace. Renew our hearts and minds, that we may seek Your justice and
compassion above all else, growing ever more into the likeness of our Saviour,
Jesus Christ. (a time of silent
confession) Amen.
Words
of Assurance
One: Friends,
hear the good news: God's love and mercy are never-ending.
All: We
are forgiven and renewed by God's grace.
One: Though
we stumble, God lifts us up and sets us back on the path.
All: In Christ, we are made new, and our hearts are filled
with hope.
One: Rejoice
and be at peace, for God's compassion and wisdom guide us always.
All: Thanks be to God. Amen.
