Opening Prayer (Unison)
Holy
One, who renews us to usher in Your Kingdom on earth, we come together on this
World Communion Sunday with hearts full of gratitude and unity. We offer our
thanks for the opportunity to celebrate the gift of communion with our siblings
in faith around the globe. Guideus to remember that in Christ, we are one body,
bound together in love and fellowship. May this communion service strengthen
our connection with believers everywhere, empowering us to be instruments of peace
and reconciliation in the world.Amen.
*Opening Hymn We
Are One (#402 VU|vs. 1&2)
Profession of Our Faith (Unison)
Carrying
a vision of creation healed and restored,
we
welcome all in the name of Christ.
Invited
to the table where none shall go hungry,
we
gather as Christ’s guests and friends.
In
holy communion
we
are commissioned to feed as we have been fed,
forgive
as we have been forgiven,
love
as we have been loved.
The
open table speaks of the shining promise
of
barriers broken and creation healed.
In
the communion meal, wine poured out and bread broken,
we
remember Jesus.
We
remember not only the promise but also the price that he paid
for
who he was,
for
what he did and said,
and
for the world’s brokenness.
We
taste the mystery of God’s great love for us,
and
are renewed in faith and hope.
(a
time of silent reflection)Amen.

Are One (v. 4| #402 VU)
We
are one as we hear, as we hear, heart and hand unite;
in
the word we receive there's a sense that God is light.
We
are one as we leave, as we love, we are loved;
and
we seek justice in God's ways as we move together from this place.

Prayer of
Thanksgiving
Creator,
Christ, and Spirit, we praise you for your love revealed to us in Jesus, who
walks with us, our Wisdom and our Way, sharing our joy and sorrow, healing the
sick, feeding the hungry, and setting the captive free. So it is that we join
the song of all creation to proclaim your goodness:
The Song

All earth and sea and sky above bear witness to
your grace.

praise.
And blessed is the One who comes and bears your
name always!
The Story Remembered
On the night before he died, it was Jesus who took a
loaf of bread, gave you thanks, broke it, and said, “Take and eat; whenever you
do this, remember me.”Likewise, after supper, he took the cup, saying, “This is
the new covenant; remember me.”
Prayer of Self-Giving
Loving God, we rejoice in the gift of your grace,
remembering Christ’s life and death, proclaiming his resurrection, waiting in
hope for his coming again. Grant that in praise and thanksgiving,we may so
offer ourselves to youthat our lives may proclaim the mystery of faith:

Live-Giving
God, we have taken our place at your table. We have participated in this
remembrance with Christians the world over today. We accept that we are now
called to live Christ-like lives, serving others, protecting the earth, and
making right our relationships with each other. For this Christ came, for this
Christ served, and for this we are grateful, in Christ’s name. Amen.

*Commissioning
The
worship time is concluded and we go now to resume our daily activities.
We
have feasted and our spirits are well nourished.
Let us
take up the challenge of radical loving, courageous justice seeking, and
compassionate nurturing.
May
the grace of God sustain us.
May the example of Jesus guide us.
May
